The REN+HOMES project recently held its third General Assembly in the vibrant city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, hosted the two-day event on 19 and 20 November, bringing together consortium members to review progress, share insights, and set the direction for the project’s next phases.

The General Assembly serves as a crucial checkpoint for partners to present updates on their activities. Project members detailed significant advancements in both technology testing and the application of innovative solutions across the four demonstration sites.

And internal workshop focused on shaping local communication strategies was carried out, emphasising the importance of effectively engaging communities. The consortium also devoted considerable attention to dissemination, ensuring that the knowledge generated by the project reaches a wider audience. The meeting also provided an opportunity for partners to collaborate on the development of robust business models, essential for the project’s long-term impact.

The second day of the General Assembly featured an exclusive visit to the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca’s demo site. Consortium members had a guided tour of a student dormitory where geothermal walls have been installed as part of the demonstration phase. Testing of this innovative technology is currently underway. There is promising potential to contribute to the REN+HOMES mission of fostering sustainable and energy-efficient housing solutions.

As the project continues to progress, the consortium remains committed to advancing technological adoption, refining business strategies. The goal is to maximise the impact of REN+HOMES in the energy and housing sectors.
