The REN+HOMES project recently hosted its second webinar, “Building Europe’s Green Future: Hardware Solutions for Energy-Efficient Housing“, which focused on cutting-edge technologies for energy-efficient homes.
Organised and moderated by ICONS, the session featured contributions from five experts: Meritxell Barroso (Evowall), Harald Malzer (NHT), Iulia Prodan (UTC), Kateriin Ruben (MATEK), and Pablo Fernandez (SIRCULAR project).
The webinar began with an overview of REN+HOMES and its demo sites, presented by Federica Fusco (ICONS), and continued with presentations from the four pilot sites, showcasing innovative hardware solutions implemented across Europe: Spanish pilots highlighted photovoltaic panels and recycled materials, the Austrian pilot introduced drainage water heat recovery, the Romanian pilot demonstrated a geothermal wall system, and the Estonian pilot presented prefabricated wall panels.
In addition, Pablo Fernandez shared insights from the SIRCULAR project, discussing other hardware solutions available in the construction sector, their applications across Europe, and their potential for replication and scalability.
