The Hellenic Passive House Institute will explore innovative approaches to designing and implementing positive energy residential environments

REN+HOMES will participate in the 2nd Smart Energy Cluster Annual Summit, taking place on 7 July 2026 in Rhodes, Greece. The event will be part of the 17th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA 2026).
In this context, REN+HOMES will join STUNNED, SMARTeeSTORY, AI-EFFECT, ENPOWER, and PVSmile projects. The Summit will focus on how smart buildings, AI-driven services and digital twins can accelerate Europe’s transition towards a more sustainable, flexible, and efficient energy system.
Dimitris Pallantzas of the Hellenic Passive House Institute will represent REN+HOMES. He will deliver a presentation entitled “A Universal Methodology for Positive Energy Homes and Residential Districts”. The session will explore innovative approaches to designing and implementing positive energy residential environments, supporting Europe’s transition towards a more sustainable and efficient energy future.
The presentation will also draw on research activities carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Athens. Pallantzas will show simulation-based analyses and field research to demonstrate how integrated methodologies can be applied in real-world urban contexts.
Pallantzas is a Building Physicist, researcher, lecturer and PhD candidate at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). A certified Passive House Consultant and the world’s youngest Passive House Trainer, he has contributed to more than 80 Passive House projects across Europe and North America and has participated in over 15 international research projects. His expertise spans building performance, energy efficiency, digital modelling tools and sustainable urban development.
