The Call for Papers for the 29th International Passive House Conference is now open, offering researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry professionals the opportunity to present their work at one of the world’s leading events dedicated to energy-efficient buildings.
The conference will take place on 2-3 April 2027 in Innsbruck, Austria, bringing together experts from across the globe to exchange knowledge, showcase innovative solutions, and advance the transition towards a more sustainable built environment.
Authors are invited to submit their abstracts by 31 August 2026.
This year’s conference theme, “Energy efficiency unites,” highlights the essential role of energy-efficient buildings in delivering a socially equitable energy transition. Contributions are welcome across a broad range of topics, including innovative building projects, research findings, tools, building components, policy, education, communication, and market solutions.
Suggested themes include:
- Architecture and performance
- Retrofits and user acceptance
- Transformation and renewable energy
- Components and innovative concepts
- Technology and people
- Sustainable and cost-effective solutions
- Tools and quality assurance
- Consultancy and education
- Politics and society
Guidelines for your abstract submission
Abstracts should be no longer than 3,000 characters (including spaces) and clearly describe the proposed contribution. Project-based submissions are encouraged to include lessons learned, innovative approaches, performance data where available, and user feedback to support knowledge sharing within the Passive House community.
Important information for candidates
Selected speakers will present their work during a 20-25-minute session, contribute an article to the digital conference proceedings, and attend the event at a reduced speaker registration fee. All submissions will be evaluated by the Conference Advisory Board, with authors notified of the results in November 2026.
